Psycho Della

This is another song inspired by this old gal I went to high school with back in the day. She was president of the Beta Club and acted real snooty even though she was from the wrong side of the tracks which was our side. We called her Della Rockefeller. She told the principal and he made us stop calling her that.

Anyway, a few years later we heard she'd left Lubbock and hitched out to San Francisco where she turned into a hippie. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Now she's back here living the hippie lifestyle. We sometimes see her around town and I have to say she's a nice old gal. But, she'll always be Della Rockefeller in my book.

Anyway, thanks, Della, for inspiring old Bobby Lee to write this song about you. I hope you like it, and I hope I make a millions bucks off it.

Scenes from the video which I think you'll dig...

lyricsHere's the lyrics if you want to sing along....

Here's some lyrics, but don't sing them in church!
She grew up just like Leave It To Beaver,
But her small hometown gave her cabin fever,
She ate all her thin mints from Girl Scouts,
To turn on, tune in, and drop out.

She joined a commune and read John Locke,
And danced the Watusi at Woodstock,
She burned her bra and went kinda mental,
Against the war, pro transcendental.

Psycho Della, Psycho Della.
She's a psychedelic, miniskirted, mind-blowing
Sep-tua-ge-na-r-i-an.

Gets so high, she makes her own weather,
She's big as five Twiggy's put together,
She bunks in a yurt that's off the grid,
Believes in the power of pyramids.

If you see Della protesting who knows what,
Yappin' about what ought to be ought,
Wave a peace sign and tell her to chill,
If she steps on your grass, just send her a bill.

Psycho Della, Psycho Della.
She's a psychedelic, miniskirted, mind-blowing
Sep-tua-ge-nar-i-an.
